This wormer costs $20 dollars at my feed store! The price here is so cheap. This is the only wormer I use for my horses

On 9/4/12 i dewormed my horse with Zimectrin Gold. Within 10 minutes she started salivating and her mouth was drooped on one side ( the side I wormed her on). her gums were swollen and red. She became quite lethargic within a half an hour. she yawned and stretched her mouth alot. she would not drink or eat and we were very concerned. it took about 12 hours before she was normal again. i would not recommend this product. she definately had an adverse reaction, but has never reacted to any other dewormer. scary stuff

I used the product a few times until my horse got chemical burns in his mouth after using it. i will nevr use it again; i Dont ever want to have to deal with that. He had to be on timothy pellets for two weeks because he could not eat hay, in addition to needing antibiotics, pain meds, and a mouth rinse twice a day. i do not recommend this product to anyone.

I have been using Zimectrin Gold for years on my horses, but last time my Arab had an immediate allergic reaction! His lips, tongue & mouth swelled up to the point that we called the vet out - on a Sunday night! But my other horse was fine. I think it must have been a bad batch, but will never risk using it again!

I just wormed my 10 year old Welsh pony with this product tonight. Within a half hour, his lips, tongue and gums were swollen so badly that he could not close his mouth. I called the vet where she treated him with injections of antihistamines, banamine, steroids and ulcer guard. She told me this has been a long standing problem with Zim Gold. They simply pay the vet bills of the horses that experience these reactions but they will not voluntary pull the product. There is an additive that is in the carrier paste that basically causes a chemical burn in and around your horses mouth. They also can experience esophagus and stomach.

Our gelding had a severe allergic reaction after using this product today. His lips and mouth became very swollen. He laid down in his stall and became quite lethargic. We were able to get in touch with our vet who told us this reaction was occurring more frequently than normal with ZG. We gave him banamine and iced his mouth and were able to get him back to near normal after several hours. This product needs to be recalled if there are this many problems with it.

This is one of the best dewormers I've used! I've used this dewormer on 5 different horses. Four of my own and one boarder. None of them had any sort of reaction. My mare with a heavy parasite load lost her bloated belly in about a week. I will definitely be deworming with this more often!

gave ZG to my 25 Y/O Andalusian gelding for the first time today and within a half hour noticed his inner lip swollen the size of a golf ball and the flesh bright red and turned out of his mouth. The swelling was all down this right side inside the mouth where I administered it. He was able to eat but sensitive to my touching it. Several hours later still swollen but does not appear to be any worse. I will continue to monitor and call vet if it gets worse. Never had this with any other wormer in his 25 yrs of life.

I use this product twice a year to make sure my horses do not get tape worms. Any worm is bad but tape worms can be transmitted to humans easier. I never had a problem with this product and I have some of THE most sensitive horses on the planet!

Many many horses have reactions with Zimecterin Gold, including swelling of the mouth, ulcerations in the mouth or stomach, etc. I would never ever use this formula especially since there are other products with the same formulation. Go to Chronicle of the Horse and search the forums if you don't believe the horror stories.

I dosed my horse today with ZG, He immediately kept rolling his tongue around in his mouth...I thought it was normal for him, but about 10 min later his mouth where the dewormer was administered had swollen and he was drooling quite a bit.
I will NEVER use this product EVER again!!! I will stick with the regular Zimectrin in my rotation from now on!

I used ZImecterin Gold for the first time this spring and my horse has never looked better. She lost her hay belly and her coat slicked out. She must have had tapeworms... Ill use Zimecterin Gold every deworming from now on. Its worth the extra money.
