Disappointed!, 12/10/2012

EdieJ from Scottsville, KY

I had bought a set of these previously and was very happy with them, but apparently they have changed manufacturers or models. These do not have a solid bottom making it impossible to feed powdered supplements and meds. Guess I'll keep looking for the other model. The solid wall models they sell peel their inner lining after a few months.

Weak Straps, 12/6/2012

Green Eagle Ranch from Fenton, MI

We have a 28 year old mare who eats a TON of grain. She really likes to scoop it out of her bucket and throw it all over her stall and because she is such a hard keeper, she was losing weight because she wasn't getting it all. I found this and was extremely pleased with the price, and the reviews. I got it in the mail quickly and it worked great, I could load it up with grain and she could throw her head all she wanted and almost none would fall out. I've had it for two, maybe three weeks and the strap broke where it connects to the bag. We heated up a nail and pushed it through where the strap connects to the bag and put a Chicago screw in to hold it. We will see how long it lasts.

The new tuff 1 bags are not very tuff!, 12/2/2012

Dee from Harrisburg, PA

Have used the mesh feed bags for many many years. The original bags had mesh bottoms and while they did eventually wear through from rubbing on the ground, they lasted a long time. The newer tuff 1 bags have a plastic bottom and it wears and cracks through very, very quickly. I use these bags on three different horses and none of the tuff 1 bags have lasted longer than a month or so. The old ones would last a year or more before finally wearing through. Frankly, the tuff 1 bags suck!!!

Love These!, 6/19/2012

RED from Ohio

Purchased my first for an older mare who dribbles, soon ordered another for camping & planning to order more now so each has their own. These are wonderful for feeding not just while camping but at home two. Easy on/off buckle, everyone gets their own ration without fighting, no waste - makes feeding a snap! I've been using them for months now & they pretty much look new...

nice product except, 1/29/2012

horselover52157 from Missouri

the clasp is not metal like the one shown in the picture but a cheap plastic clip that breaks after a short time. I've had mine less than a month and out of 7 purchased, 2 are already broken at the clasp. I won't order these again because of the cheap clasp.

Just the Thing, 11/13/2011

=dave= from Lee's Summit MO

Samson's teeth are fine but he still dribbled many of the small grain bits right out of his mouth. It didn't take him long to figure out how to work the bag so he gets every scrap now!

Great for messy eaters!, 8/20/2011

Sierra from florida

I have a 35 year old horse that is missing teeth and is a very slow eater that likes to drop at least 1/2 of his feed so a lot is wasted. after we bought this and saw how well it worked its like a dream come true. He now eats all of his feed and non is wasted and now horses aren't not pushing him off of the feed either! Would diffidently buy again!

Money saving product, 8/9/2011

A. Eldridge from Jackson, MO

We have an older horse who eats slow and tends to drop feed from his mouth while eating, this bag ensures that he gets all of his feed without waste. Also, it's great for feeding multiple horses, you don't have to worry about one horse going without, they each get their ration. Have used this bag for a couple of years with three horses, and they are still in good shape. Planning to buy more for our new horses.

Miss the Old Net Bag, 10/25/2010

Freedom Ranch from Fayetteville, NC

I have used the net feed bags for years. They are perfect for feeding while camping, or for feeding a slow eater amid a crowd. The old model was WAY better than this one. The old model had a solid bottom and a built in feed 'catcher' on the chin side of the bag so that if the horse slung it's head up and down the feed could not fall out under their chin. The older bags also had a plastic snap lock buckle with an adjustable strap. It made it very quick and easy to apply/remove/adjust the bag, especially if you are dealing with an animal that is funny about it's ears. This new model of bag is a stripped down, cheap version that has abandoned many of the features that made the earlier version a winner. While I still prefer this style of bag to the solid canvas bag, I am shopping around to try and find someone that still carries the original version of net bag with a solid bottom, feed catcher and a snap strap.

Safer than the canvas type, 7/27/2010

Jerry H. from

I found this bag to be well made. This mesh bag is much safer for a horse that might get loose while camping. If he dunks his nose in a bucket or stream with this bag on he will not risk drowning as he would with a canvas bag. One caveat: don't leave the bag with feed in it where rodents can get to it. We made that mistake and the rodent ate a hole in the mesh to get at the grain. In spite of that, I would not trade this for a solid wall bag.

Great for the messy eater, 9/2/2009

Cecillia from Beaufort, SC

My horse throws his feed all over the place so I ordered this so he wouldn't waste anything. He loves it, very easy to use and spray out. So far not molding a bit in our South Carolina humidity.

feed bags, 8/10/2009

Carol Hancock from Addison, IL

These are OK, but I wish you still carried the feed bags with the solid sides and bottoms. That kind of bag makes it possible to feed meds and supplements w/o losing them.

Feed Bags, 8/18/2008

Tania QUery from New Lisbon, IN

I go trail riding and still like to feed the horses. This bag easily lets them feed without fighting each other, while hitched up at the rail.

Mesh Feed Bag, 9/17/2007

Tracy from Middle Tennessee

Ive tried other feed bags made of canvas, and they get wet and moldy this bag is great, and minimizes the impact of dusty feed. Because of the material, this bag is also much more durable.

mesh feed bag, 7/20/2007

Susanne from Cornish, NH

I use this bag because I have a horse that throws her feed around when she eats and this helps prevent that. It goes on easily and is adjustable. I like the mesh sides. My only problem is that the bottom wears out. Im replacing my secnd one in 2 years, but we use it daily and she occasionally dunks it in her water bucket, so it gets a lot of wear.
