Just like alot of other owners that have tried this, I have an off-the-track thoroughbred who was so spun-up all the time I couldnt even lead him. I started using Vita Calm just three days ago, and today I had one of the best rides of my life! My horse was calm, quiet, and focused. I wish they sold this stuff in 5 gallon buckets!!

I have a 16yr old gaited Appaloosa who is beyond a "handful" he is incredibly hard to ride, will rear, buck up if you hold him back and wants to rack on the whole time you are riding him. His mouth is tough and he is very powerful. I decided to give this a try but I bought mine from Tractor Supply which is a little more by a few dollars. He has been on this sup for almost 2 weeks and with a change in bit he is perfect now. He was using a broken mouth, twisted wire wonder bit but now is on a med. port walking horse bit. He is like a completely different horse. I took him on a ride in the park yesterday and it was all walk, no pulling the bit, no rearing or running off. He was calm but happy. His edge was completely gone! He was level headed and actually stretched out his neck to the ground a couple times while walking. He was totally relaxed. I highly recommend this to people who are having the same problem I was with him. It really does help to calm them down but he has not acted druggy or tired. The price is low enough to give it a try!

I moved my horse to a new barn in Nov after spending all his 10 years here at home in my backyard. His old buddies passed away and I didn't him alone. I moved him to a boarding stable and he went berserk. My poor boy. Upon arrival at the new barn he was drenched in sweat (after a 15 min ride). He was frightened, pissed off, worried and oh so stressed out. And so was I to see him like this. I went and worked with him several days a week, but it's like his training had gone out the window. He was acting dangerous. I put him on this product and went back to working on ground manners. I rode him often and most importantly, were still working on learning to be tied again so he can stand patiently. I think this product in combination with the training and riding is working magic. He's a changed horse and it's only March. He has really mellowed out and can relax now. He still has some anxiety but I think we're on a good path to fixing things. Hope my review helps and can help you and your horse.

I moved my horse from a small private, very quiet barn. To a very public, loud, busy stable. Along with the extreme change of scenery, we also had to change the kind of hay he got. So my horse (storm) was quite stressed and stopped eating. and would spook at the slightest things (which was very unlike him) and was overall having a hard time settling in. So I thought I would try Vita calm as it had such great reviews. and after one day of use Storm was a lot more like his old self. He was eating all of his hay and no longer cared about the rustle and bustle of the busy barn. yet he wasnt dopey/drugged out either. He was attentive, and focused. He still had energy, but he was stupid. It "took out the stupid." Deffinatly recommend this product. and with the stateline tack price ($21 at my local tack store!) its a great bargain for a great product!

My new Haflinger gelding is/was prone to bolting when faced with new situations. I started him on Vita Calm two weeks ago, as an experiment, and it worked!! He is really listening and paying attention more to his rider than before. He received one scoop daily, not sluggish, druggy or slow...just attentive!

I got a very, very high strung stallion last winter..he really was "crazy", could not ride w/o head flying everywhere, bucking & rearing constantly, biting..you name it! Told by many that he would end up killing me..started to think that too..it was a constant battle to stay on & rode him daily, thinking he just needed more hours(he hadn't been ridden for months before me)..started this product..did a bit of experimenting on dosage..wow-now he is amazing!! I did need to adjust the dose quite a bit..but it works & I can now ride w/no "issues" & no more "attempts" to loose me!! He is not at all druggy or dopy..still goes like the wind & I don't need to be super glued to the saddle ;)

I love this stuff. And even better my gelding is back to his old self. He was a calm quiet yearling. I am not sure what changed but when he became a 2 year old he became very reactive and flightly. I didn't start training him until he was 3 and although he became "broke" he was hard to ride. Little things would set him off....the branch by the arena that wasn't there before or the barrel that we had been going around all of a sudden didn't look right. And forget it if you changed anything in his enviroment. He would spin and run from a pile of rock that hadn't been there before. I have trained many horses but nothing helped with his flightiness. I tried Quiessence for quite a while and it seemed to take some of the edge off but this past year it seemed to stop working. I decided to try Vita-Calm. Mostly because it was cheap and I thought "what do I really have to lose?". It works miracles on him! Things that I think will cause him to flip out (because it would have in the past) he will simply tilt his head at and walk past. I can even take him on trail rides without him thinking every fallen tree is a horse eating monster. I LOVE this and will continue to use it.

I have a pony that's gate, buddy, and barn sour and i was only ever able to take him out of the pasture for about 1 min before he would start to flip out and want to go back, and when in the pasture if you were riding him after about 20 min he would decide he's done and throw his head a charge. Even though i worked with him he still would get ansy about stuff. I put him on Vita-Calm and the other day we rode him FOR A WHOLE HOUR or more!!! and 10 min of that was OUTSIDE THE PASTURE!!! and through all of it he never once threw a fit!!! it really does calm him down so that he can focus on what im asking!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!

I purchased this product for my grandchild's 18 year old mare and 22 year old gelding. It worked great on both horses. The mare wouldn't eat her feed with all the supplements at first. If the horse won't eat their feed with the supplements(especially the granular type)add about 1/2 cup water(depending on the amount of feed) and mix well. I read this tip on another supplement that I purchased from this site. The mare licks the bottom of her bucket dry now.

My 5 year old PB Arabian mare was acting frantic during turnout, running all day and losing weight. I bought this stuff, and she's like a new horse. Laid back, grazes calmly all day...just much happier. No anxiety. She's also easier (wasn't really a problem before though) under saddle. Just more laid back and chill. Highly recommended!

Stable Owner who's OWN horse is Nutty! from Western NY
I have a GORGEOUS 13yr old paint gelding who I love dearly and have owned since he was 2 ... but he's nuts. I believe he was "cowboy" broke/abused before I bought him as he has always been VERY fearful /tense/anxious (causing countless headaches and issues). I never thought I'd be able to ride him, but refused to sell him because I can't imagine what would happen to him elsewhere.
All that being said I decided after reading the reviews that for the price of the product I would give it a shot. I am VERY impressed. I never wanted to "drug" my horse which is why I haven’t purchased a "calming" supplement for him before. I can honestly say this has NOT made him "dopey." He is still very much his puppy-dog like playful energetic self it just seems to have taken the "stupid" aka nerves out of him. Since using this product he's been a dream to handle and I have resumed him training! He still gets nervous but seems to be able to calm down faster and accept things now where before he'd just flip out and all hell would break loose.
One review said the horse stopped weaving… I WISH he would stop weaving but unfortunately he still does that (perhaps I just need to up the dosage) however I didn’t expect ALL of his anxiety issues to be fixed. Several review mention their horse won’t eat it. In all fairness not every horse will like the taste of every product (my guy doesn’t like eat/like apples!) and in those cases I think it is unfair to say it “didn’t work”… of course it didn’t because your horses never ingested it! My horse GOBBLES this up with his grain.
This has definitely helped SIGNIFICANTLY and I will be using this product from here on out. As I continue to work with him/train him I will post my progress!

My mare is a totally new horse. She's always been high strung and jumpy/tense and had gotten to be a challenge to ride. With Vita-Calm she's become calm, easy to ride and very responsive. I had the same result with an older green-broke gelding. Thought I'd never be able to ride him, but now with Vita-Calm he's much more willing to train and less jittery.

My paint gelding was starting to develop an attitude in his stall at feeding time as well when it came time to ride. He was getting jumpy and a little unpredictable. I was getting nervous when the owners of my barn would feed him and be going in and out of stall. He was starting to kick the boards out of his stall, and I didnt want an accident to occur with someone. I was 50/50 about this product after reading some of the reviews, some good some bad. After Bentley being on this product for a week I noticed a BIG difference in his attitude. I give him 1 scoop in the morning with his feed and he gobbles it up! Hes much calmer in his stall, and more focused when riding. I highly recommend this product for someone looking to help take the edge off their horses. This product is something I will continue to give my gelding.

I used this in the last 3-4 months. I haven't used in the last week as I've run out and notice a big difference in behavior. They spook more easily and are more anxious. I'm sold. Easy to use--just sprinkle on feed and they gobble it up.

i got this for my 6yr.old half quarter half walker mare, she is very reactive , but this product has done wonders for her . this product does not work on all horses though, my daughter used this on her quarter horse and it made her very hyper. it did just the oppsite of what it is supposed to. these two horses are mother & daughter. i would recommend this to anyone with a horse who truly needs to be calm.

My Daughter has a QH that she competes in Cowboy Mounted Shooting with. He is the herd leader at home, but when we take him to shoots he becomes very insecure without the herd. While we are working on building his confidence in the arena away from the herd, we tried Vita-Calm for our last shoot and her horse had all the confidence in the world! It was just enough to take the edge off so that he would focus on my Daughter! He responded to every cue and ran the courses without fail. They even won the second day! Great product, we feel blessed to have found something to help him out while we work on his confidence! I have to admit, I was sceptical, but it really worked for us!

i was truly at the end of my rope with my appy gelding. he was so nervous and spooky, i was nervous even brushing him, let alone riding him.(the last time i'd been on him, he'd spooked so violently upon seeing my friend walking around the corner of the barn, that i was thrown and cracked a rib.)if i tried to lunge him, he'd be ok, until a leaf blew the wrong way. then he'd buck and pull so hard that i could barely hold onto him.i couldn't let my dog around him either because he'd charge him and throw kicks at him for no reason.i'd tried several other calming supplements, but none had worked. because of the price, i gave this a try. what a difference! i can brush or blanket him now without fear that he'll spook and jump ontop of me. he still looks at things, but doesn't jump out of his skin like he used to. he doesn't seem aggressive to my dog anymore either. i won't let them loose together, just in case, but through the fence or over the stall door, there is no more ears pinned at him or anything. he just ignores the dog now.i trust this horse enough now to allow my 2 year old son to pet him, something i never would've done before. he's not drugged or dopey, either, which is important to me. he still lover to run and play in his paddock, and has as much energy as he ever did. he just seems alot calmer, safer, and i think happier too.

I got this product to help my half Arab mare chill out at Fair for the 12 yr old riding her. I didn't have the opportunity to test it before hand but boy did it work great. Just took enough of the edge off in the arena (the only place she's overly excited)to allow her intermediate rider to do her thing and place in pretty much every class. And without knockin my horse out or makin her stupid. I highly recommend this product for any hot or possibly hot or just overly excited horse

I purchased a 4yr old Tennessee Walker Mare last winter and when I got her home she was totally nuts!!! Couldn't catch her, very spooky and terribly head shy. If I was lucky and she came up to me to feed, she was always in a stretched out stance ready to flee any second. I tried the Vita-Calm and saw a difference within the first week. She gets it everyday in her feed and is now a stable, workable horse. We couldn't live without this stuff!!!

I bought this to give to my gelding that can be very hyper. I fed him the maximum daily dose for a week and I also used it on a young horse that I own just to see if it would calm him a little more. There was no change at all in my gelding's temperament and the young horse actually seemed to be more difficult to handle. There were no other changes to their diet or exercise. Both horses are ridden a few times a week and they eat a mixture of oat and alfalfa hay with no grain. This does seem to work pretty well as a skin and coat supplement, but it certainly had no calming affect on either of the horses I tried it on. I'm surprised at the high reviews that this product has received for calming horses. I either got a bad batch of this product or the other high reviews are the result of a placebo effect.

I have an off the track gelding in training and prior to using this he would buck and be very high strung. After about 4 days of using this he has completely changed, I can now work him with out having the bucks and the high strung end but I still have a horse that is "hot" but just more predictable. Just to make just its the Vita-Calm and not just him relaxing more I took him off of it for a week and he went back to being completely nuts, so there ya have it. I would say if your looking for a calming supplement go for this one it really does work and it also makes their coat look better too
