Works Great!, 4/12/2013

Pam from Tulsa, OK

I used this all last year during fly season and it worked great! While my horse still had some flies and I still used fly spray, he didn't have near the amount that the other horses have. He never had any problems with flies around his face or ears, mainly just his lower legs. My arab doesn't mind the taste, my new horse isn't wild about the taste which is okay because it makes him slow down when he eats now!

Didn't make much of a difference, 9/29/2012

Meaghan from Michigan

Although the price of this supplement is hard to beat, I found that it really did very little in controlling the flies around and on my horse. I still have to use fly spray daily and after a while, she stopped eating her grain with this in it. Maybe she was getting too much vitamin B. I do notice less bugs in her manure, though. Not really a great supplement for fly control in my opinion. But was worth a try.

BugLyte, 5/21/2012

Fran from Spring Hill, FL

I have been using BugLyte for almost 2 months.. I really don't see a difference. I still have to use a fly spray to control the flies.. I'm not sure if I stopped using this product if the flies would increase.. Overall I was not impressed..

Worked great!, 9/7/2011

Morgan from Keller, TX

The flies used to attack my horse, now after just one can of Buglyte, i see the flies have moved to an easier target. Many others have said it takes a while to kick in, but mine was working effectively in a week. it took a while for my horse to like the taste, but he loves it now! will never buy another feed thru fly product besides buglyte again.

I switched over from another brand, 8/30/2011

Birgit from Texas

Since they "improved" my other feed thru fly control brand, i decided to switch, since theirs just is not working well any more. Been only a week so far, but they love this stuff as much as they loved the other stuff and seems the flies are going down already. This is much cheaper to use than the other brand was and I must say, so far so good. Hope this company does not "improve" this stuff as well.

Great Stuff!, 8/25/2011

K.C. from Palm Beeach, Florida

Really works!!! My horse had no mane or top of tail due to incessant rubbing, she had the girth line of scabs and patches elsewhere...after 1 month, no more rubbing, no more scabs! Halleluya!

Stinky...but Great!, 7/23/2011

Melanie from Asheville NC

I am a huge skeptic when it comes to trying new products. I was very skeptical on this whole feed- thru fly control idea. For 11 dollars though... why not try it! We haven't had too big of a pest problem (hardly any knats, only flys), this summer. After feeding BugLyte for a few weeks the fly population has deminished considerably! I might see 2 or three flys around my geldings a day. The only fault I have found with this product is it's stench! I am very careful not to stir up the powder at all at feeding time because once its on you you will smell "garlicy"! Horses have no problem eating BugLyte though, they love it! My geldings spend some time in Greeneville Tennessee where the knat population is insane, nothing keeps them at bay. I can't wait to try this product when they spend their time there!

Bug Free w/out Chemicals!!!, 5/21/2011

T. McMahon from Cathlamet, WA

This is a great product for anyone who wants to naturally keep flies off w/out using chemical sprays, etc. Given sufficient time to work, this product is a 12 on a scale of 1-10! And I live next to a dairy!!! I use it every spring thru fall.

worked for me, 8/5/2010

Kim from

I Have been using this product (full dose) for 6 months without fly spray. Product really works. Prior to use my horse had large welts from bites. It took approx. 4-6 weeks to see results. We also use fly predators and fly bags.

I started this on my horse in Feb. since we have flys early here in the desert,at first I didn't see any change until recently, after 3mos. I finally see absolutey no flies in her poop, this product takes quite awhile so start very early.

Depends on the horse, 8/7/2009

Kimberly from Romulus, MI

My greedy pasture pal LOVES this stuff. He eats it straight from my hand! However, the smell is pungent and it is awful if you spill some on yourself. The tub has a screw top and very open mouth, making it easy to spill. I would have recommended a flip top that is just big enough for a scoop (not included). They recommend one ounce per 1000 lb of horse, so it last quite a while.

Good product for the price, 7/14/2009

kathy from chesapeake, va

As with the other review, my horses hated the taste at first, but they did get used to it and now eat their food with it. It also did appear to take longer than the 2 weeks to take effect. I tested it on 2 horses and left the 3 without to see if it worked. After about 3 possible 4 weeks I believe it is working. There are less flies in the stalls and less on the horses. I do use fly predators and a fly spray on them, but there does seem to be less flies than last year and we have had a very wet summer.

My Horses Love It, 6/30/2009

Sandy from Michigan

I have just started using it so I am not sure how good it is going to work. I am hoping to break the fly cycle through their manure. What surprised me was how much my two horses love it. When I smelled it I thought no way will they eat it and the thought of eating sweet grain with the garlic made me what to gag but my horses lick their pans and run to the gate to get it. This is the best price I have seen yet on the net.

BugLyte, 5/27/2009

Krystall from Washington

I was so excited to receive and try this. My horses HATED it, I'm not sure if it was the smell of the garlic or the taste. :(

Have an icelandic with sweet itch and a sensitive lusitano that broke out in huge hives every summer. This product along with good fly spray, cleared up all problems. I will stock up every spring.

Bug Be Gone, 1/2/2009

Vic from Brandon Fl

Use to use bug check found that bug lyte worked better & really keeps the bugs away. I do a lot of camping & riding in fl. with bugs year round. I found bug lyte to be my horses best defense against biting bugs!

good stuff!, 11/17/2008

ellen from gainesville, fl

Really makes a difference, takes two weeks or more, and I must use the initial dosage continually my horses are really big. The diatomaceous earth and garlic are also a big deterrent for worms of all kinds.

Pretty Good Product, 7/18/2008

Diane from Otsego, MI

Use of this product has really kept down the flies in my stable and pastures. Does a pretty good job of keeping them away from the horses too HOWEVER you have to stick to the initial dosage amount. If you lower it after a certain number of days as recommended, the flies come back.
